Won't Short
The Won't Short is a high-end speaker developed by F&S Hi-Fi in 2021. It's the rarest speaker in existence, with only 1 unit ever being made. It offers exceptional sound quality with a completely flat frequency response, unfilled screw holes allowing for ported bass airyness, and a sleek spray-painted body. It was rated 5/5 in What the Hell is Hi-Fi? magazine shortly after its development. The speaker was built on no budget and took 2 days to complete, and it was finished and released publicly on the 18th of August 2021.
Development
The speaker itself was sourced from a Goodman's CD/radio boombox, and it was originally going to be stereo, but since one of the wires on the other speaker fell off, the plan was changed, and so it became a mono speaker (both left and right channels are played back). The soldering work is of particular note, as the person who did the soldering was so incompetent, he burnt the speaker terminals off. Thus, the wires had to be soldered directly to the speaker wires themselves. A major quirk of the Won't Short is that it has no built-in amplifier; the 3.5mm jack has to be plugged into a loud amplified source for the speaker to be audible. The 3.5mm cord is also extremely short, so an extension lead will have to be used if a sufficient length is required. Hammered into the back of the speaker is a wooden peg to stop the cord from moving around or pulling on the speaker cables.
