Morrison'sMorrison's is a British supermarket chain from Britain, founded by Mark Morrison in 1996. It is one of the largest supermarket chains in the world, with over 20 shops available. They sell a wide array of items including milk, biscuits, coffee grains, baby nappies and external hard drives.HistoryThe idea for the supermarket came around in early 1995 when Morrison had the idea of opening a supermarket. Working as a singer, he received low pay; this was due to the music industry not appreciating genius. It was for this reason that while it seemed he was enjoying himself, he was secretly drawing a floor plan of what was to become the first Morrison's. After a few months of hard work, a smoke-filled bedroom (due to his mental cogs struggling to turn), and the filling of a jam jar that had been repurposed as a sweat jar, he had completed his plan. After receiving enough profit from his newly-released single "Return of the Mack", he phoned up his primary school friends (who happened to be experienced builders), and with no permission from the council or government, set to work.As it was being built, Morrison began collecting stocks. His plan was to create the world's most versatile supermarket, so he acquired stock from friends' houses, the ground, stealing from people's back pockets, and many spades worth of compost. During this time, he was using his leftover money to buy advertisements, in the form of posters to pin to dead trees. 6 months of discreet working later, the building was complete, and after only a few minutes, customers were flocking to the new-fangled Morrison's. Profits were flowing in like a simile, and soon enough there was enough money to build another Morrison's, so that's exactly what happened. He got a load of experienced workers to build it for ˌʃɔːn20 (which they accepted) and that was popular too. Exclusive products were introduced shortly after, including the popular "The Cheetos", "Peperama" (stoffed dug toy), "Apples with Works" and HP sauce bottles which doubled as partially-working printer/scanner units. |

SponsorshipsIn 2009, Burger King saw how much profit Morrison's was making, and used the opportunity to sponsor them. They decided to cash in on their product "The Cheetos" by combining it with Mac 'n' Cheese, which was the result of a 3 hour long Met(office) Ting with the Burger King himself. The reason that Mac 'n' Cheese was the product to combine, was because although the Burger King loves cows, he can't beat a bit of the old Apple Mac, specially the first generation of Power Macs which had a lovely guitar noise as the startup; the connection is that burgers come out of the holes in the middle of acoustic guitars. They can also fit in, giving them a unique sound, similar to putting a balloon in that exact hole to make the guitar sound like a banjo. An advertising campaign was also decided on, which featured a parody of Mark Morrison's famous hit "Return of the Mack". The release of this campaign also coincided with the reveal of the product name, which makes sense I suppose since it needs a name when its avertised. The name of the product was "Mac 'n' the Cheetos R Brand", chosen due to the stupid logo stuff that's on logos nowadays. The product was resoundingly successful, and made Burger King thousands (it would've made them millions had they not split the profits between the two companies; this is a decision that the Burger King wholly regrets). It was a limited edition item and ran for 4 months. |
