Yes, I produce music too, and it's about what you'd expect from me! I used to release under the pseudonym System10 and my stuff mainly consists of breakbeat-influenced songs with an eclectic selection of samples. I don't take myself seriously at all, and that applies to music too.
These days I no longer produce like I used to, I still make tunes but nowhere near as often. The System10 era has long been over and I've become a lot more introspective with my recent productions. I've always had a studio containing some music hardware, but I've recently realized that it's like my therapy room. It's just great to sit down and channel the emotions through music. I literally call it The Sanctuary :)
13 jams done in GarageBand on my iPad, one after the other, at like 12am. These were all made between 2022-2023 and I didn't listen to any of them before starting; I forgot how they all went so I just opened them up and jammed to my heart's content.
Fun fact: 90% of these were made in bed! I used to use GarageBand as a scratchpad for ideas before I started bringing my laptop with me instead... also, the samples were recorded through my headphones by holding the microphone up against them. Very hi-fi biz :)
Every time I listen to "Manic" I remember that I actually have really high grades in music, and I just laugh.
Back when I used OpenMPT regularly, if I made something that I really liked the sound of, but couldn't flesh it out into a full song, I had fun muting and unmuting the different channels and recording the result! I've heard these enough times, so it's only right that I finally share them.
