Best Image Format (BIF) is a revolutionary image format developed by Prezzo Pretres of Very Cheap Website. It combines speed, compatibility and high compression into one format - one which surpasses the most commonly used formats such as PNG or JPG. Images encoded with this format are extremely vibrant and eye-catching, and have a small filesize. Compatibility is constantly growing, with support for File Explorer and Finder, as well as integration with the most common browsers set to be coming around 8096.
For compression, Best Image Format uses the proprietary Bloated Compression Algorithm (BCA) which is unique in that it can sometimes bloat the file size of the final image, a feat which no other compression algorithm to date is capable of. It can compress images by up to 80%, and bloat them by up to 50%. It all depends on how many unique pixels your image contains; but one thing's for sure, your image will always look the same, as it's a lossless compression algorithm. And on top of that, its compression ratios are almost on par with PNG's.

If you're not into bloating, BIF contains the option to automatically detect whether the image should be saved with BCA, for the optimal file size every time. Compression speeds are also remarkably fast; a 320x224 image takes 3 seconds, a 480x640 image takes 1 minute, and a 1920x1080 image takes a whopping 27 minutes (tested on an Intel Core i9 and AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, no background processes). Best Image Format supports 3 different colour modes: Mode 0 (red, green and blue), Mode 1 (cyan, magenta, yellow and black), and Mode 3 (black and white). No dithering is used in the colour reduction algorithm; this is to ensure maximum vibrancy. It's also possible to adjust the threshold, so you can accentuate different colours and adjust it to get the best result. This is because Best Image Format aims to be a personal format.
